Towards the end of 2024, we decided to replace our ageing oil boiler with an air source heat pump. The installation company (NOT Future Proof Solar) treated us quite dismissively which led to a less than satisfactory installation and overall experience. It soon became apparent that the heat pump (a large 17kw unit) was very energy hungry. To that end we decided to invest in a solar system to try and offset the running of the heat pump primarily. Based on our experiences with the heat pump installer, we were massively apprehensive to say the least. However, we contacted Future Proof Solar to get a feel for what was available and what was involved. Pav visited us in person and answered all our questions in a completely professional and concise manner. This went a huge way in restoring our battered faith in the renewables industry. We were provided with a quotation which provided three options. Ultimately, we opted for a Solax system (6kw inverter, parallel box, 4 - 5.8kw batteries and 19 Aiko Neostar 455w panels). In addition, two emergency power supply sockets were provided along with an ‘Eddi’ to divert excess energy to heat our water via the immersion heater. A massive plus for us was that the entire Future Proof Solar team are employed directly and properly by the company - a fact that we were misled and lied to about by the heat pump installation company. Our installation (like most) required scaffolding. Our access is a little difficult but full and continuous liaison between FPS, the scaffolders and ourselves ensured a minimum of disruption for us and our neighbours. On installation day, the team arrived and got cracking straight away! The vast majority of the job was completed on the day with only minor teething problems being ironed out on subsequent visits. The entire team were conscientious, hard working, respectful of us and our home, clean, tidy and clearly took great pride in doing a proper and professional job. We had a few little requirements relating to the aesthetics of the installation. We were listened to and the team went above and beyond to build those requirements into the job. So, would we recommend Future Proof Solar? YES, we jolly well would and strongly recommend others to look no further if in the market for a solar installation.
