Monocrystalline Solar Panels

These types of solar panels are the purest of its kind which means they are the most expensive. They offer a high power output and last longer opposed to other types of solar panels. When purchasing solar panels a main feature to look for is how they operate in all temperatures. Monocrystalline solar panels tend to be less affected by high temperatures compared to polycrystalline panels.

Polycrystalline Solar Panels

These panels are easily identified due to their blue speckled squares. Polycrystalline panels are made from melted silicon which is a cheaper option compared to monocrystalline panels. Because these panels are cheaper it also means their power output and lifespan is lower. The differences between mono- and polycrystalline solar panels are not significant. However polycrystalline panels are affected by hot temperatures to a greater degree.

Thin-Film Solar Panels

If you are looking for a cheaper type of panel, thin-film solar panels could be right for you. These types of  panels are the easiest to produce as less materials are needed for its production. This makes them a cheaper alternative. 

Thin-film solar panels are a flexible panel which makes them less affected by high temperatures. The only disadvantage to this type of solar panels is that they take up a lot of access room on roofs. In addition they carry the shortest warranties and lifespan compared to mono- and polycrystalline solar panels.
