Project Overview:
Future Proof Solar was sought to install a state-of-the-art solar panel system on Apex’s roof, aimed at significantly reducing the building’s dependence on the electrical grid, bolstering its eco-friendly credentials, and delivering substantial long-term financial savings.
Installation Details:
Solar Panels: 112 x JA 540W solar panels
Inverter: Growatt 50KTL3 inverter
Expected Annual Generation:
52,074 kWh
Financial and Environmental Impact:
The solar panel system at Apex is designed to generate 52,074 kWh annually, covering a significant portion of the building’s energy needs. Over the 25-year lifespan of the system, the total expected generation is 1,735,215 kWh. Of this, 965,423 kWh will be consumed on-site, while 769,792 kWh will be exported back to the electrical grid.
Financial Benefits:
Export Payments: The energy exported back to the electrical grid is projected to generate total payments of £74,850 over 25 years.
Electricity Savings: By utilising solar power, Apex is estimated to save approximately £210,563 on electricity costs over 25 years.
Payback Period: The initial cost of the solar panels is expected to be recouped within 6 years, highlighting the rapid return on investment and the system’s financial viability.
Net Present Value (NPV): The total present value of future benefits, discounted at 1% per year, is estimated at £246,444.98. After deducting the system’s cost, the project has a positive NPV of £205,166.88, indicating substantial financial gains over its lifetime.
Internal Rate of Return (IRR): The IRR further emphasises the project’s profitability, making it a sound financial decision for Apex.
Conclusion:
By partnering with Future Proof Solar, Apex has taken a bold step towards enhancing its sustainability while securing long-term financial benefits. The installation of 112 JA 540W solar panels, coupled with the efficient Growatt 50KTL3 inverter, not only reduces the building’s environmental impact but also ensures significant electricity cost savings and additional revenue through export payments.
With an estimated £210,563 in electricity savings and £74,850 in export payments over 25 years, Apex’s investment in solar energy is set to deliver substantial returns. Future Proof Solar is proud to support Apex in its mission to lead the way in sustainable, innovative office spaces in Doncaster.
