6 steps to going solar
Are you thinking about installing solar panels? Here is a step by step guide on how our solar engineers prepare for the process leading up to your installation.
Onsite/Online Survey
Should you choose to proceed with Future Proof Solar, we will commission an onsite or online survey. The survey is carried out by one of our accredited solar pv surveyors, as part of the surveyors remit they will carry out:
Cable run diagram & full system design confirmation- panel layout, annual generation figures and payback figures
You will be contacted to arrange your survey within 7 days of placing your deposit and the survey will take place within 14 days.
3D System Design
After your survey, our team will create a full 3D system design and shading analysis using industry standard design software which will confirm the annual energy (kWh) production of the system. Variations in the design and cable runs will be discussed and confirmed with you. We will prepare a report for the solar engineer to follow on the day of installation and a contract will be sent to the customer stating the terms, conditions and payment options.
Permitting
Permitting is only applicable to customers in a conservation area or listed building
Installation
Our lead time from deposit to installation is approximately 3-4 weeks. Most installations are completed within one working day by our solar engineers. If we anticipate it will be longer you will be made aware during the design stage.
The installation would be carried out by the following:
- Electrician
- Roofer
- Labourer
All solar engineers and members of our team are employed, we do not use sub-contractors.
System Connection
Our solar engineers will work with your system to get everything connected to the utility. We will also connect your system to the grid.
